CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Fifteen personnel of the Cavite police, including eight officials, have been relieved from their posts after they tested positive for illegal drug use.
The names of the police officers were withheld pending the result of a pre-charge evaluation, Senior Superintendent Eliseo Cruz, Cavite police director, said yesterday.
Cruz said the eight officials were assigned in General Trias, Alfonso, Silang, Naic and Maragondon.
Four were arrested in a sting in Biñan City on Jan. 7, 2015 while three others were collared during a series of raids in Laguna.
Chief Superintendent Ronald Santos, officer-in-charge of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police, has ordered surprise drug tests on police officers in the region.
